Established in 1948, PruHealth is the health insurance division of the Prudential (or Pru), one of Britain's most famous and long established providers of insurance, investments and pensions. 

PruHealth promises quick access to high quality care, but it has also focused on rewarding customers who lead healthy lifestyles and rewarding them with "Vitality" points, which help to reduce their premiums and give them discounts with certain retail partners, such as Fitbug.com, as well as reduce the costs of health screenings.

In July 2010 it bought Standard Life Healthcare.
