Those holidaymakers who are making the trip outside UK shores more than a couple of times every year should look into annual travel insurance, according to website Swiftcover.com
Apparently, people who take multiple trips abroad during a year could be more financially sensible to choose annual travel insurance as opposed to single-trip cover.
In some cases, swiftcover urge, travellers could be paying enough extra on travel insurance to afford another break. Craig Staniland, the underwriting director for swiftcover.com, said: Cheaper flights, cut-price holidays and the growing range of short breaks available means that we're taking the opportunity to make more and more trips abroad each year. Yet, when it comes to insurance, many people fail to take advantage of cheaper travel insurance with annual cover to suit their changing needs.
The news comes following recent health insurance bulletins claiming that travellers to Europe should not depend entirely on the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) as the treatment it provides is fairly basic.
Apparently, even the Department of Health is advising travellers to make sure that they have adequate private insurance as opposed to just travelling with an EHIC card.
