A new book is making waves in the world of US health insurance . The new book, by Fred Brock (a professor at Kansas State University) is entitled ‘Healthcare on less than you think: the New York Times Guide to Getting Affordable Coverage.’
The book, as well as advising people on how to make the most of their health insurance situation, also raised some alarming points about the state of healthcare in the US. Brock raises many questions about US health insurance. It is too expensive, he claims, and pre-existing conditions make it too hard to get in most US states. The trend amongst employers to cut back or eliminate employee health insurance is also getting worse apparently, with many workers affected.
The author said: One of the things I do with the book is briefly discuss the history of health insurance and how we're in the mess we're in and ways to get out of it, but the main focus is how to reduce health costs and cope with the current system until things get better.
