Major health insurance contract for BUPA

BUPA, the foremost health insurance and private medical insurance provider in the UK, have won a major contract to provide private healthcare services to employees of Virgin Media .

The large entertainment and communications company, Virgin Media, an offshoot of the larger Virgin family, will require private health insurance cover for around 13,000 employees over the next three years.

Virgin Media is a relatively new company, created this year following a merger between Telewest and Ntl. The companies are looking to combine their separate healthcare schemes into a major healthcare trust.

Following a tender process, BUPA were selected as the foremost candidate to provide the cover.
