Help the Aged have released a new Healthcare Cash Plan with no upper age limit and premiums below 20 pounds per month. Offered with two levels of cover, the Healthcare cash plan has been created in response to concerns that older people are being priced out of the health insurance market.
Private health insurance can certainly be expensive, particularly for those over 50. The Charity has sent out details of their medical insurance cash plan to 20,000 customers, with initial response extremely positive. The charity are planning a full roll out of the product during 2007.
The specialist health cash insurance company Paycare insures each cash plan policy. The plans offer conventional cover, no benefits that are not relevant to older people, and extra offering of care.
Anne Grahamshaw, speaking on behalf of Help the Aged, said: "Our cash plan offers older people the choice of an affordable alternative to expensive private medical insurance, assisting with the costs of treatment and consultations for a wide range of health needs."
