HSA, a health insurance provider who specialise in health plans, has donated a generous £70,000 to the national charity for hospices, Help the Hospices. The donation will help the charity to fund a training grants programme to finance hospices throughout the UK.
The Help the Hospices Regional and Outreach Training Grants programme is designed to aid hospices in establishing study days, professional conferences and specialist courses. This isn’t the first time HSA has donated to the charity. Last year, they made a payment of £150,000 to Help the Hospices.
The managing director of HSA, Chris Harrison, reportedly commented: Everyone at some point in their lives has been touched by the work of the hospice movement. That is why we wanted to lend our support to an initiative that broadens their effort and offers a unique benefit to communities. Hospices are an essential part of our communities, and this programme will really help extend the core hospice services to a wider audience.
