The health insurance company HSA has donated £5,000 to buy a new, state-of-the-art incubator for a Salisbury Hospitals intensive care unit.
HSA will pay for a new neonatal intensive care unit for the Salisbury District Hospital. The payment follows a hospital appeal known as the Stars Appeals Little Lives Campaign. The campaign was founded to raise money to buy the most advanced equipment possible to treat babies who are premature or critically ill.
The managing director of HSA, Chris Harrison, reportedly commented: "When we heard of the Little Lives Campaign, we instantly wanted to lend our support. The neonatal intensive care unit serves as a vital facility for many people living in our local community and will offer these babies the best start in life. We hope this campaign is able to reach its desired target and we're very proud we were able to help."
BUPA are also in medical insurance news this month. The private health insurance company pledged to support Comic Relief this Friday with a number of volunteers to man charity phone lines.
