Facebook and health insurance

Fri, 30 Nov 2007

According to a recent report, over 20 different groups have been set up on the social networking site Facebook to support expansion of American health insurance coverage. The groups, many of which have over a hundred members, are also said to link medical insurance strongly to the 2008 elections.

Comment in America says that the interest in health insurance amongst the young is hardly surprising, especially when one in three lack health insurance cover . Young people are said to be firmly engaged with health insurance and the campaign for expansion.

Some young adults are healthy enough not to worry about health insurance, and only take an interest if they hurt themselves of fall ill, but if the surge of interest on social networking sites is anything to go by, the young have a strong pro-expansion view of health insurance in America.
