Private health insurance in place of NHS

Recent calls from the general public, healthcare expert, and people with experience of other countries that operate private medical insurance systems.

Thanks to a recent report paid for by the King’s Fund and carried out by Sir Derek Wanless a rigorous examination of the National Health Service is now in the public domain.

A recent Telegraph article compared the Dutch healthcare system with out own. A recent report concluded the following about the Netherlands healthcare system: "The quality of care is internationally above average in many respects. However, there is still much room for improvement with respect to the effectiveness of prevention and care, patient safety, coordination of care and integrated care."

The Dutch system, unlike the NHS, is based on compulsory health insurance .
