Dental insurance saves teeth and money

Thu, 03 Apr 2008

According to recent research conducted by health insurance plan provider HSA, almost 1 out of every 5 UK adults decides to delay visiting the dentists due to fears over the cost of dental care .

NHS dentists are now increasingly rare in the UK, and the future may see them disappear altogether. People in the UK, without free cover, are finding money is too great an obstacle to ideal oral care.

Spokesperson for HSA, Richard Halley, reportedly commented: "Our results come shortly after the NHS has revealed that half a million fewer adults are now visiting the dentist than two years ago. This could be down to the cost, and also difficulty in accessing an NHS dentist. Indeed 27 per cent of those surveyed claim that they have struggled to find an NHS dentist."

Halley reportedly continued: "If affordability is a concern, people could consider taking out an HSA dental plan . Plans start from as little as £2.25 a week and provide the peace of mind you are covered for check ups, treatment and emergencies, whether an NHS or private dentist ."
