Fri, 04 Apr 2008

According to a recent article on the Motley Fool, UK travellers need to be aware that the European Health Insurance Card is not a travel insurance alternative, and travellers heading abroad with the cards should consider an additional policy and check whether they are entitled to health care cover by carrying a card.

EHIC cards are supposed to give travellers a basic level of health insurance cover, proving visitors in the 29 EU countries to get medical treatment at a lower or sometimes zero cost.
