Recent health insurance news reported that health insurance company Westfield Health gave a new facility to help the blind and partially sighted in Sheffield a donation of £25,000.
The effort will go some way to help reach the £400,000 target set by the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind (SRSB) to help equip and operate the new facility.
The society supported by the health insurance cash plan provider aids some 3,000 people with sight problems throughout Sheffield. Sue Coggin of SRSB was reported as commenting:"We are extremely grateful to Westfield for their generous donation. It has given our fundraising efforts a huge boost, taking us one step closer to our goal of £400,000. More than 100 people start to lose their sight every day, so the charity needs to expand its services in order to cope with these increased numbers. Our new centre will provide a fresh and exciting facility offering a wide range of services to help and care for blind and partially sighted people in Sheffield."
