Health insurance company welcome health service measures

One of the senior employees of health insurance company BUPA has welcomed fresh news that the National Health Service will shortly be required to assess treatment outcomes as routine.

The medical director of health insurance giant BUPA said that the move is a critical step forward in improving UK healthcare . The new measures dictate that new patients undergoing four key operation will have to fill in a questionnaire before and after treatment.

The data collected by the NHS will be used to create further opportunities for benchmarking and best practice and improved levels of information for authorities. Measuring reported outcomes will aid in gleaning clinical benefits – whether operations are successful.
