Americans agree with mandatory health insurance

A survey by the Commonwealth Fund has found that 68 per cent of American people believe that each individual should have mandatory health insurance . For those that cannot afford a medical insurance policy, these same people believed that the government should come to their aid.

The Commonwealth Fund is politically independent, and works towards reforming health policy . Democrats were found to support mandatory health insurance above the other parties, with significantly lower support from Republicans.

The assistant vice president of the Commonwealth Fund reportedly commented: It is a significant issue as the number of uninsured people climbs every year and more and more middle-class people are affected.
