A new Norwich Union insurance study called Health Shame indicates that as many as 15 per cent of British people lie on their insurance application forms.
The new Health Shame study indicated that people make things up about a number of different things, with some 93 per cent of those that replied feeling social pressure to be a healthy person.
According to the report, some 25 per cent of people lied to their doctor . Other common lies included about weight, junk food consumption, alcohol consumption and smoking .
The leader of the study, Willie Mowatt reportedly commented: "We all want others to think we are healthy, but it becomes dangerous when our claims do not match reality. Exaggerating, or omitting information, on insurance policy forms can render them void, so it means that you may be paying out money to cover a policy that is invalid."
