Internet helping health insurance

Thu, 17 Jan 2008

America faces a serious underinsurance problem, where millions of US citizens lack health insurance cover . However, the Internet could now have a role to play in helping the 47 million uninsured people in America to sign up for a government-sponsored health insurance program.

A new website, the Foundation for Health Coverage Education (FHCE), has listed all 144 programs sponsored by the government to help people get the health coverage that they need.

Internet support is therefore proving useful to back up non-profit live help lines. The FHCE website has state by state health insurance application links. Visitors are also able to take a very quick Eligibility Quiz online. The website is one good example of how the Internet is helping to solve the health insurance problem.
