According to a report from the Association of British Insurers, many UK employers are using private medical insurance as a perk to draw in high quality employees, and keep them on the books.
Private health insurance is a particularly attractive benefit to employees, and can make a job more appealing. The perk helps employers also, as the health benefits of a medical insurance policy are well proven.
Jonathon French, spokesman for the ABI, reportedly commented: It's an important thing for them from a productivity point of view and that, of course, has knock-on benefits to the overall productivity of the economy.
Recent ABI reports indicate that over 7 million people in the UK have private health insurance .
