Health Insurance magazine announce awards

Health Insurance and Protection magazine has announced the winners of the Health Insurance Awards 2008.

A London ceremony last night confirmed the winners in a variety of categories, voted on by industry professionals and readers of the magazine.

The former chief executive of private health insurance association BUPA, Val Gooding, was named as the Health Insurance Personality of the Year 2008. Bristol based BCWA were named Health Insurance Company of the Year. Jelf Group Plc won the Health Insurance Intermediary of the Year Award for the second year running. As many as 900 medical insurance industry professionals attended the event on Park Lane, at Grosvenor House.

Private health insurance is thought to be one of the insurance policies being affected by the credit crunch. A significant percentage of UK consumers are choosing to cut insurance policies to save money in the short term, including their health insurance and pensions contributions.
