According to recent research conducted on behalf of Westfield Health, one of the leading not for profit health insurance providers in the UK, healthcare is a major priority in a time of economic crisis.
Policyholders were surveyed, and asked there they would look to make savings, as the cost of living increases and household finances become stretched.
The survey examined some 22 different household outgoings, with Health cash plans rating above home insurance, utility bills and other essentials. Policyholders were found to be looking to make savings on clothes, holidays and satellite television .
The chief executive of Westfield Health, Jill Davies, reportedly commented: These findings do demonstrate very clearly that healthcare generally remains a real top priority for people, even when faced with difficult decisions in terms of managing their budgets.
