Health insurance news today indicates that businesses continue to be committed to looking after employee health . Spending on employee healthcare benefits, including health cash plans and private health insurance, has increased over the last 12 months.
The statistics, released by Employee Benefits/Simplyhealth Healthcare Research, show a particular surge in the popularity of health cash plans . According to the data, some 14 per cent of companies in the UK now provide a health scheme such as a health cash plan, up from just 5 per cent last year.
Simplyhealth expert James Glover reportedly commented: Amid all the doom and gloom we keep hearing about, employers are recognising how important it is to look after staff wellbeing in these changing times. As employees struggle with money worries and the cost of rising bills, a company-paid Healthplan is a welcomed and valued form of support, whilst helping employers to maintain a happy and healthy workforce.
