Westfield Health, health insurance company has been awarded with a special certificate to mark 90 years in service. The Barnsley and Rotheram Chamber of Commerce has provided a special certificate to Westfield Health .
The medical insurer started out with a ‘penny in the pound’ scheme, which was a forerunner of the modern-day health cash plan . The primitive private medical insurance was designed to help workers get free hospital treatment.
Westfield Health now provide healthcare plans for a third of a million policyholders, and service over 9000 companies. Andrew Denniff of the B and R chamber reportedly commented: The certificate is recognition not only of our excellent relationship with Westfield, which goes back many years, but also the organisation’s 90th anniversary. While the certificate rewards Westfield for its longevity, it also salutes the company’s excellence in business in the region over that period.
