ICICI Lombard has launched a series of customized health insurance plans for students enrolled at any of the insurers listed universities across Australia, the UK and the US. The customizable plans are unique in that no other insurance provider offers health cover tailored to the requirements of each university. ICICI Lombard lists more than 700 universities on its website, offering health insurance plans specific to each one that compare favourably to the universities own health care plans.
The Student Medical Insurance Plus Plan is just one of the policies offered, and is an extension of the Overseas Student Travel Insurance previously available to students. The Plus Plan seeks to simplify the issue of medical expenses for students heading abroad, and also covers for inter-collegiate sports injuries as well as treatment for alcoholism, drug dependency and mental and nervous disorders.
ICICI Lombard has teamed up with United Health Group to improve its coverage of the USA, giving ICICI Lombard access to the insurers 4,965 hospitals, 80,000 dentists and 595,000 physicians. The insurance policy is expected to prove popular with students from countries such as India, with many students hopeful of studying at university abroad.
