Westfield Health, the private medical insurance provider has made a further donation to purchase a special piece of equipment to be used for a deafness project.
The donation was made to Deafness Research UK, who funded the study by the University of Sheffield. The charity had written to Westfield health, who sell health cash plans, and asked for help in purchasing an electrophysiological microscope.
The health insurance company contributed over 9000 pounds, which should help scientists to learn more about deafness. Hearing loss affects some nine million people in the UK.
