Health insurance cost saving options

Aviva health insurance is offering a new cost-effective health insurance solution. The Healthier Solutions Individual health insurance product has reduced outpatient benefits and offers higher excess option, both allowing for premium discounts.

Patients can lower the out-patient cover by selecting lower limits for specialist consultations, specialist referred treatment (such as to chiropractors, osteopaths and physiotherapists), psychiatric treatment and diagnostic tests. By selecting lower limits the cost can be cut considerably.

Aviva expert Neal Archbold reportedly commented: While many customers still want the comprehensive cover available as standard on the policy, feedback shows that there is an increasing appetite for higher excess options and reduced out-patient cover. The high excess option will not appeal to everyone, but those who are happy to contribute towards their medical treatment have the choice to do so in return for significant premium discounts .
