Homeopathy should not be covered by National Health Service

According to health insurance news today, the UK parliament science and technology committee has concluded that the funding of homeopathic treatments on the NHS should stop. The MPs found that homeopathic treatments were not backed up by evidence, and that the NHS should withdraw funds from homeopathic hospitals and referrals.

Furthermore, the health service specialists commented that prescribing a placebo such as homeopathy could undermine relationships between doctors and patients. Medical claims should also be banned on homeopathic labels, the committee stated.

Certain insurance companies now cover homeopathy. Private medical insurance and health cash plans from companies like Bupa and AxaPPP may include homeopathy .
