According to health insurance news today, one health insurance broker will allow parents to benefit from reduced health insurance rates up until the age of 25. The new upper age limit will allow younger people to be put on their parents’ private medical insurance policy at a dependant rate.
The revision will give families a greater chance of looking after their children’s health needs on a private basis.
Health-on-line expert Mike Dalby was reported in health insurance news as commenting: We have reviewed our approach to family and child only policies to make it easier for parents to look after their children’s wellbeing with health insurance. We had previously included children up to the age of 21, or 24 if they were in full time education. We have now modified our policies so that parents can keep their children on their policies up to the age of 25, provided they are not married. This change in age restrictions will allow older dependants to access the benefits private medical insurance offer at a much lower premium. We see a constant demand from parents concerned with the NHS and wishing to protect their children, through health insurance. This recent change means parents can insure their older dependants for 50% less than if they had a separate policy of their own. This obviously makes private health insurance more affordable.
