The first insurance policies which will provide residents of the Isle of Man with medical cover when they go to the United Kingdom have been launched. The Manx people will need the new private medical insurance when the Reciprocal Health Agreement ends on March 31st, 2010.
The insurance policy is reportedly designed for all residents of the Isle of Man, including those that have pre-existing conditions or are elderly. The company, Offshore Travel Insurance claim that their product is similar to those offered to the Channel Islands since their health agreement ended.
The policies include Medical Health Plus, a medical expenses and repatriation policy that offer full medical cover in the UK, and Manx Plus, a travel insurance product .
