Department of Health say many Britons all talk and no action

Mon, 08 Mar 2010

According to a study by the Department of Health, middle-aged Britons are all talk and no action when it comes to their health . Even though half of adults know they need to think more about a healthy lifestyle, the same number spend more time talking about it than doing it.

The government has recently released an online health assessment aimed at people of this age-group. Known as NHS MidLifeCheck, visitors are taken through a simple multiple-choice lifestyle questionnaire.

More and more private health insurance companies and private hospitals are focusing on a preventative approach, by linking premiums with health status and providing wellbeing services. With workplace and individual health directly linked to productivity, many insurance companies recognise the need for incentives.
