Axis Global Accident and Health, which provides insurance products in the US market, has announced it will be expanding into the international arena, including the UK. They are planning to launch accident and specialty health insurance cover for a variety of institutions and organisations, as well as personal and business travel accident insurance programmes for employer groups.
As part of the new strategy, Axis, which operates as a division of Axis Capital Holdings, has also appointed Giles Allen to the position of senior vice president international accident and health insurance operations, Global Accident and Health, who will work out of their London office.
Giles, who has 17 years’ experience working for several Lloyds’ brokers in the accident and health market, was previously executive director in the accident and health division of Willis, and has also held the same position at Aon.
