If you are a keen amateur sportsperson, then you should consider taking out sports accident insurance. Costs start from around £33 a year depending on the sport and your occupation.
What does it cover?
A typical plan will cover personal liability, personal accident – which can include loss of earnings - legal expenses, consultant, dental and physiotherapist’s fees, search and rescue and inconvenience payments for time spent in hospital. The higher the grade of plan, the higher the benefit limits will be.
These policies are only for amateur sportspersons, semi-professionals, will need to take out a more extensive cover policy. The cost is based on what sport your participate in and your paid occupation
